Salt Lake City Library, October 2005
The new Salt Lake City Library is a stunning complex that includes a beautiful atrium, an auditorium, and a variety of shops.
Night Flight Comics set up shop right outside the auditorium, so that attendees could stop by and meet Batton and Jackie after the graphic novels presentation.
Batton signed many copies of the new Tales of Supernatural Law trade and did sketches, while Jackie signed copies of the Dark Horse book she edited, Comics: Between the Panels.
Young fan Logan watches Batton sketch.
At the author reception, Batton met legendary bookstore owner Ken Sanders, of Ken Sanders Rare Books. Ken said he plans to make Batton a "featured author" at the store.
Night Flight Comics at Library Square
The Night Flight Comics store in the Salt Lake City Library complex featured signs promoting the appearances of both Jackie and Batton, as well as terrific displays.
The store staff all sported shirts touting the event (hi, Mimi, Josh, and Theresa!).
Golden Apple Comics, October 2005
Fellow signers Dawn Brown (of Little Red Hot fame) and writer Todd Livingston, whose new book, The Wicked West, is coming out from Image.
Batton signed his new collection, Tales of Supernatural Law, along with lots of other Exhibit A publications.
Another pop-in: Jonah Weiland, proprietor of comicbookresources.com, one of the great sites on the web for comics industry news. Jonah’s company also hosts this very website!
Voice actress Marla Phillips, who attended the School of Visual Arts with Batton, stopped by to say hello. A number of other SVA alums also popped in.
Metropolis Comics, Bellflower, CA,   October 2005
John Berry, events coordinator for Metropolis, showed how big a fan he is of Supernatural Law by sporting the latest SLaw T-shirt.
Rick Geary (another San Diego resident) contributed to the Halloween festivities with his Victorian Murder series of books from NBM.
Batton added to Desha Dunnahoe’s growing collection of Beethoven caricactures.
