Signings and Parties




Borderlands Books, a great sf/fantasy/mystery/horror bookstore in the Mission District, held a group author signing on Thursday night. Here Batton hobnobs with authors Brian Keene (Conqueror Worms, The Hollow) and Cody Goodfellow (Radiant Dawn, Ravenous Dusk), while Christopher Golden signs in the background.

The Borderlands signing was also a book release party for The Art of John Picacio. Batton found out that John Picacio is a heck of a guy as well as a heck of an artist!



Chelsea Quinn Yarbro took a break from all the signing at Borderlands.

Among the cool folks Batton and Jackie were able to meet at the many at-con signings and parties were:


All-around nice guy and best-selling author F. Paul Wilson (The Keep, Repairman Jack series).


Japanese horror master Koji Suzuki (The Ring).


British author and WHC guest of honor Kim Newman (Ano Dracula).


Snappy dresser Jeremy Lassen, who was co-chair of the convention and also ran the dealers' room.
