The Exhibit A Booth
The Exhibit A Press booth was in its usual spot, anchoring the Independent
Publishers’ Pavilion. The booth sported a brand-new banner this year; the
previous banner is now afixed to the front of the Exhibit A bar. When Jackie and
Batton were away, Trevor Nielson held the fort (here accompanied by
Melissa Uran).
Jackie and Batton were thrilled when The Supernatural Law Companion
actually arrived as expected-- here’s the ceremonial opening of the UPS box.
Batton was kept busy signing books and comics all four days, while art assistant Melissa Uran took center stage on Friday and Saturday afternoons.

Batton reminisced with Larry Marder about the olden days when Larry had
the booth next to Exhibit A’s and Larry was still doing Beanworld, before
going on to a higher-powered position with Todd McFarlane.
Batton traded comics with Chris Wisnia, the creator of the self-published Kirby-inspired tabloid-sized Doris Danger series.
The great Filipino artist Alex Niño stopped by the booth; he remembers the old days of Comic-Con in the 1970s at the El Cortez Hotel, complete with yellow shark repellent in the hotel pool!
Christopher Moonlight and his wife Faith stopped by to introduce everyone to little Katelyn Cooksey.
showed off the adorable and bubbly Paloma Tangerine (“Poppy”) Pascoe.
