WonderCon 2004
Moscone Center, San Francisco
Exhibit A's booth was in the small press area—or what Jackie came to call "the land at the end of the carpet."
Jackie interviewed special guest Harvey Pekar for his spotlight panel.
Other WonderCon guests included writer/artist Darwyn Cooke (DC's New Frontier) and popular writers Jeph Loeb and Geoff Johns. DC had a prominent booth in the exhibit hall with long lines for all its creator signings.
James Sime interviewed Batton for the Supernatural Law 10th anniversary panel. Afterward, audience members gathered 'round for a chance to talk to Batton.
It wouldn't be WonderCon without costumed characters. The Daredevil/Electra couple also donned a variety of other costumes over the weekend. Bill Morrison's wife Kayre portrayed Jillian from his Roswell Little Green Man comics series.
Another WonderCon special guest was the legendary Jim Steranko. After hours, Jackie talked "old times" at the San Diego Comic-Con of the mid-1970s with Jim and Dave Stevens.
Photo op! Batton poses with Bob Burden, whose Flaming Carrot pinup appeared in Supernatural Law 39, and Art Adams, whose talking purple gorilla art appeared on the cover of that issue. Burden and Adams originally collaborated on the award-winning Gumby Summer Fun Special back in 1987. Batton and Jackie had a great time schmoozing with Ray and Kim Snyder, who hail from Macon, Georgia. Ray is the current inker on Wonder Woman and inked the Eisner Award-nominated JSA: The Unholy Three.
ISOPTOPE WONDERKONTIKI 2004
The original art for Batton's story "Words Can't Do It Justice" (Supernatural Law 35) graced the entryway at the store.

Jackie and Batton were thrilled to be the guests of honor at Isotope's annual WonderKonTiki party.
The hosts for the evening were Kirsten Baldock (concocting the tropical drinks) and the sartorially splendid James Sime.
Exhibit A books were on display throughout the store.
Celebrities in attendance included Jim Heebink (Doll and Creature, The Bod), Brad Rader (Catwoman), and Kyle Baker (Plastic Man, Kyle Baker Cartoonist) and Eisner-nominated Brian Wood
At midnight, James offered a toast to Batton, Jackie, and Supernatural Law. "How many other black-and-white humor/horror books have made it to ten years?" he asked.
One last photo before Jackie and Batton called it a night (FYI: Kirsten made her dress and James's matching tie!).
