| "What do you have new this year?" In answer to that perennial question, Batton was able to answer Supernatural Law 101, Supernatural Law 40, special 10th anniversary posters (thank you, Morgan Printing, of Grafton, ND!), and new "Another Satisfied Client" SLaw T-shirts from Graphitti. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| When Batton first got his studio in downtown San Diego, his office neighbors were Nghia Lam and Derek Ozawa. Nghia (far left) painted the back cover to issue 4 and helped out on some of the earlier issues. Derek (far right) served as one of Batton’s art assistants for several years. In 1994, Mimi Cruz Carroll was one of the first people to read Supernatural Law #1, so it was only fitting to catch a shot of her reading the 10th anniversary issue, Supernatural Law 101. The co-owner of Night Flight Comics in Salt Lake City, Mimi has been active in using comics in the classroom and getting comics into libraries—activities for which she received the Bob Clampett Humanitarian Award at the 2004 Eisners ceremony. |

| Comic-Con volunteer Pam Noles made sure that Batton was on time for his panels and had plenty of Starbucks coffee to keep him going. Jackie is also grateful to Pam for helping out at the Eisner Awards on Friday night. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
