The Eisner Awards
Wearing her other hat (so to speak), Jackie emceed the revamped and streamlined Eisner Awards. The table decorations in the foreground were created by Lisa Bowman and Robyn Hill.

Eisner Awards supporting sponsor Nancy Trempe, owner of comicsunlimited.com, hosted Jesse Leon McCann (writer of Simpsons and Looney Tunes comics) and reviewer Johanna Draper Carlson (comicsworthreading.com) at her table
EC Comics great Al Feldstein was thrilled to be named to the Eisner Awards Hall of Fame.
Steve Leialoha shows off the new Eisner Award; he won two, as inker on Fables, which received the awards for Best New Series and Best Serialized Story.
F. C. Brandt of Sparkplug Books entertained the Eisner audience with his surrealistic acceptance speech on behalf of Jason Shiga, who won for Talent Deserving of Wider Recognition
Retailer Mimi Cruz (who helped with the setup prior to the Awards) hangs with two-time winner Bill Willingham (writer of Fables) and Nancy Trempe.
Eisner presenter Colleen Doran (A Distant Soil, Orbiter) celebrated after the awards with nominees Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner (The Pro, nominated for Best Humor Publication).
Painter extraordinaire Alex Ross was surprised and thrilled to win this year’s Bob Clampett Humanitarian Award, for his contributions of original art to auction on behalf of a number of charities.

At left, at the post-awards party, Jackie got a chance to chat with keynote speaker Neil Gaiman as well as Top Shelf publisher Chris Staros and nominee Eddie Campbell (After the Snooter).

Also seen at the Eisner afterparty:
Mimi Rosenheim, of AiTPlanetLar.
Our boothmate, Jim Pascoe.
James and Kirsten, of Eisner supporting sponsor store Isotope (San Francisco).
Jimmy and Karen Gownley, whose Amelia Rules! was nominated for Best Title for a Younger Audience.
Gary Groth and Eric Reynolds of Fantagraphics, which took home four awards.
At left, Dennis Kitchen, former publisher of Kitchen Sink and currently agent for Will Eisner and chair of the CBLDF

Above, Bongo Comics editor-in-chief Bill Morrison, who obviously celebrated a little too much!
