Batton sprained his foot the week before APE, so he had lots of fun getting around San Francisco and APE on crutches!
Christina "Smudge" Hanson, a longtime APE exhibitor, was promoting her upcoming collection Ebin & May from Radio Comix.
Batton enjoyed chatting with Scott Bieser, artist/adapter of L. Neil Smith’s Probability Broach graphic novel.
Cartoonist Javier Hernandez filled Batton in on the film adaptation of his comic El Muerto.
Javier was one of the participants on the panel about movies and indy comics that Batton moderated. Other panelists shown here are Alex Woo (whose short film adaptation of the comic Rex Steele, Nazi Smasher led into the panel) and Claudia Spinelli, creative executive from Nickelodeon.
